The No. 14 Stevenson University women’s field hockey team defeated Penn State Harrisburg 1-0 on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 12, at Owings Mills East. Gracyn Catalano scored the game-winning goal in the 39th minute, and Jordan Vradenburgh recorded her fourth shutout of the season.
Stevenson dominated offensively throughout the contest, outshooting Penn State Harrisburg 30-0 overall and holding a 12-0 advantage in shots on goal. Following the victory, Stevenson celebrated its senior class.
Gracyn Catalano scores the deciding goal
Stevenson broke the scoreless tie in the 39th minute when Catalano scored on an assist from Taylor Valoczki. Valoczki and Sydney Aylward led Stevenson with three shots on goal each.
Shae Bennett and Coco Wallace added two shots on goal apiece. Vradenburgh completed the shutout in goal for Stevenson.
Stevenson travels to Elizabethtown
The No. 14 Stevenson University women’s field hockey team will travel to Elizabethtown on Wednesday. The first whistle is scheduled for 6 p.m.
