The No. 14 Stevenson University women’s field hockey team defeated Penn State Harrisburg 1-0 Saturday at Owings Mills East in Owings Mills, Md. Gracyn Catalano scored the game-winning goal in the 39th minute, with Taylor Valoczki providing the assist.
Stevenson University outshot Penn State Harrisburg 30-0 overall and 12-0 on goal. Following the victory, the Mustangs celebrated their senior class.
Gracyn Catalano Scores in the 39th Minute
Catalano broke the scoreless tie in the 39th minute with Valoczki assisting on the goal. The score gave Stevenson the only goal it needed in the 1-0 victory.
Valoczki and Sydney Aylward each recorded three shots on goal for Stevenson. Shae Bennett and Coco Wallace added two shots on goal apiece.
Jordan Vradenburgh Records Fourth Shutout
Jordan Vradenburgh recorded her fourth shutout of the season. Penn State Harrisburg finished without a shot overall or a shot on goal.
Stevenson will travel to Elizabethtown on Wednesday for a game scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
