Alejandro Dealvarez made eight saves and recorded his third shutout win of the season as the No. 10 Howard Community College men’s soccer team defeated Harford Community College 2-0 Sept. 11 in Columbia, Maryland. Howard Community College improved to 5-0-1, while Harford Community College fell to 4-3-0.
Howard outshot Harford 17-12 in the Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference matchup. Dealvarez’s performance helped Howard preserve the shutout.
Yeabsira Tesfaye Gives Howard Community College the Lead
Yeabsira Tesfaye scored in the 28th minute to give Howard Community College a 1-0 advantage. Tesfaye finished with six shots, four shots on goal, one goal and one assist.
Dealvarez made eight saves as Harford Community College attempted to respond. His third shutout win of the season kept Howard in front through the remainder of the match.
Angel Giron-Ramos Adds Second Goal
Angel Giron-Ramos scored in the second half off an assist from Tesfaye to extend Howard’s lead to 2-0. Giron-Ramos recorded three shots, including two shots on goal.
Carson Feeser, Lucas Britos and Nicholas Mirecki each recorded two shots for Howard Community College. The victory moved the No. 10 team to 5-0-1.
Howard Community College Men’s Soccer Team Scheduled to Face CCBC Essex
Howard Community College was scheduled to face No. 8 CCBC Essex on Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. The match was set as a rematch of the previous season’s Region 20 title game.
