Notre Dame of Maryland University women’s volleyball fell to McDaniel, 3-1, on Sept. 9, 2026, at the MBK Sports Complex in Baltimore. Bryanna Carter recorded 20 kills for the Gators, but McDaniel won the match by set scores of 27-25, 12-25, 25-23 and 25-22.
The Gators hit .250 and finished with advantages in kills and digs. Notre Dame recorded 51 kills and 64 digs, while McDaniel posted 48 kills, 51 digs and a .147 hitting percentage.
Bryanna Carter Leads Notre Dame Women’s Volleyball
Carter recorded her 20 kills on a .341 attack percentage. She became the first player other than reigning United East Player of the Year Brielle Worley of Gallaudet to exceed 20 kills in a match during the 2026 conference season.
Kaliyah Brown posted her second double-double of the season with 16 kills and 10 digs while hitting .243. Brown also led the Gators with three aces, all of which came on consecutive points closing the second set.
Aleah Johnson recorded her first double-double of the 2026 season with 20 assists and 10 digs. Oliviya Rodriguez added 22 assists, while Izzy Stewart led Notre Dame with 16 digs and Carissa Tanseco contributed 13 digs.
McDaniel Wins Three Close Sets
Notre Dame won the second set, 25-12, after McDaniel took the opener, 27-25. The Green Terror then secured the match with 25-23 and 25-22 wins in the final two sets.
McDaniel’s three set victories were decided by a combined seven points. Notre Dame’s advantages in hitting percentage, kills and digs were not enough to prevent the four-set loss.

The Gators were scheduled to return to action Saturday at the Messiah Tri-Match.

Notre Dame produced several notable individual performances despite the loss. Carter’s 20 kills, Brown’s double-double and Johnson’s first double-double of the season highlighted a match in which the Gators held statistical advantages in hitting percentage, kills and digs.
The narrow margins in McDaniel’s three victories also kept the match competitive throughout. Notre Dame will next compete at the Messiah Tri-Match.
