The Chesapeake Baysox defeated the Richmond Flying Squirrels 11-3 Tuesday night in Richmond, Virginia, behind Vance Honeycutt’s first professional multi-homer game. Chesapeake hit four home runs, totaled 15 hits and received at least one hit from all nine starters.
Vance Honeycutt powers Chesapeake Baysox offense
Honeycutt opened the scoring with a solo home run two batters into the game. He added an estimated 449-foot homer to left-center field in the fifth inning, becoming the first professional multi-homer game of his career.
The performance extended a productive stretch for Honeycutt, who has homered three times in his past two games. He also homered in consecutive contests for the first time in his career. Honeycutt entered the game hitting .344 with five home runs and a 1.175 OPS in his first 17 Double-A games with the Chesapeake Baysox.
Chesapeake Baysox hit four home runs
Ethan Anderson hit a three-run home run during Chesapeake’s five-run second inning. The homer was Anderson’s 20th with the Baysox during the season and his 21st of the minor league season.
Aron Estrada supplied Chesapeake’s fourth home run with a two-run shot to left field in the sixth inning. Estrada’s homer followed a single by Wehiwa Aloy and gave him 24 home runs for the season.
Griff O’Ferrall also produced a four-hit performance in his hometown. He went 4-for-5 with three singles, a double and an RBI, recording the third four-hit game of his professional career and his second of the season.

Caden Hunter started for the Chesapeake Baysox and pitched four innings with four strikeouts. He allowed three unearned runs in the second inning after Chesapeake committed two errors.

Chesapeake Baysox continue Richmond series
The Chesapeake Baysox continue their final series of the 2026 season at Richmond on Wednesday night. Joseph Dzierwa is scheduled to start for Chesapeake against Richmond’s Charlie McDaniel.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at CarMax Park. Dzierwa was listed at 3-1 with a 2.43 ERA for Double-A Chesapeake, while McDaniel was listed at 3-4 with a 5.40 ERA.
