Frederick Keys Baseball Secures South Atlantic League North Division Second-Half Championship

The Frederick Keys secured the 2026 South Atlantic League North Division second-half championship Saturday night with a 7-3 victory over the Brooklyn Cyclones at Maimonides Park in Brooklyn, New York. The championship-clinching win gave Frederick both the first-half and second-half titles with one regular-season game remaining.

Keys Rally After Brooklyn Takes Lead

DJ Layton gave the Frederick Keys a 2-0 lead with a two-RBI single in the top of the second inning. The Brooklyn Cyclones answered with two home runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 3-2 lead.

Enddy Azocar tied the game at 3-3 with an RBI double in the top of the fifth inning. After scoreless sixth innings from both teams, Frederick regained the lead with a three-run seventh inning. Randal Diaz delivered an RBI groundout, and Jaiden Lo Re followed with a two-RBI double to give the Keys a 6-3 advantage heading into the eighth inning.

Ty Head added a pinch-hit RBI single in the eighth to extend Frederick’s lead to 7-3. Brendan Parks then closed out the victory with a scoreless bottom of the ninth inning.

One Regular-Season Game Remains

The Frederick Keys are scheduled to finish the 2026 regular season Sunday afternoon against the Brooklyn Cyclones in the series finale. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. at Maimonides Park.
