The Altoona Curve scored seven unanswered runs to defeat the Harrisburg Senators 7-3 on Sept. 2, 2026, in Harrisburg, Pa., evening the series at one game apiece.
Nick Mitchell led Harrisburg offensively, going 3-for-4 with one RBI and two runs scored. The Senators struggled with runners in scoring position, going 1-for-11. Altoona’s decisive five-run fourth inning gave them control of the game.
Altoona Overcomes Early Harrisburg Lead
Mitchell reached base with a leadoff walk in the bottom of the first inning before Branden Boissiere doubled into the left-center-field gap to drive him home, giving Harrisburg an early 1-0 lead.
Jesus Castillo put the Curve ahead in the third inning with a two-run home run off Josh Randall. Altoona added five runs in the fourth to extend their lead to 7-1, holding on the rest of the way.
Mitchell Leads Senators’ Offense
Harrisburg scored again in the fifth inning when Mitchell singled with one out and scored on an error, cutting the deficit to 7-2.
In the seventh, Mitchell drove in Cortland Lawson with a two-out single for the Senators’ final run. After his sixth-inning single, Altoona retired the last 10 Harrisburg hitters in succession to close the game.
Josh Randall Takes the Loss
Josh Randall allowed seven runs, five earned, in four innings and was charged with the loss. The right-hander gave up six hits, two walks, and one hit batsman while recording two strikeouts.
Relievers Josiah Gray, Eriq Swan, Kendeglys Virguez, and Thomas Schultz combined to pitch four scoreless innings for Altoona.
Harrisburg Senators Prepare for Game Three
Game three of the series is scheduled for Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. Josh Hartle, holding a 4-5 record, is scheduled to start for the Senators.
