Stevenson University Men’s Soccer Opens 2026 With 1-0 Win on Landon Eaton’s Late Goal

Stevenson University men’s soccer opened its 2026 campaign with a 1-0 victory over Elizabethtown on Sept. 1 at Mustang Stadium in Owings Mills, Maryland. Landon Eaton scored at the 87:01 mark off an assist from Nick Gervase to give Stevenson its season-opening win.

The win placed Stevenson at 1-0-0, while Elizabethtown fell to 0-1-0. Eaton’s goal was the only score of the match.

Stevenson University Men’s Soccer Creates More Chances

Stevenson outshot Elizabethtown 12-7 and held a 9-6 advantage in corner kicks. The Mustangs recorded four shots on goal compared with two for Elizabethtown.

Jackson Robinson recorded Stevenson’s first shot on goal in the seventh minute. Jacob Greene and Nico Paz also recorded first-half shots, but the teams entered halftime scoreless. Stevenson continued to apply pressure after halftime before Eaton broke the deadlock late in the match. Gervase provided the assist on the deciding goal.

Andrew Sindicic Preserves Stevenson University Shutout

Elizabethtown responded with two late chances after Eaton’s goal, including an attempt that struck the crossbar and another shot on goal. Stevenson goalkeeper Andrew Sindicic made the save needed to preserve the shutout.

Next Match for Stevenson University Men’s Soccer

Stevenson is scheduled to face Gallaudet University on Sept. 4 at 5 p.m. in Washington, D.C., entering the match with a 1-0-0 record.
