University of Maryland Eastern Shore Adds Scooter Clark and Jarutrawee Kotchagrai as Men’s and Women’s Golf Assistant Coaches

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore added Scooter Clark and Jarutrawee Kotchagrai as assistant coaches for its men’s and women’s golf teams, the school announced Sept. 2, 2026. Clark and Kotchagrai will assist head golf coach Jerel Walker with developing, teaching and supporting the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference program.

Jarutrawee Kotchagrai Brings Mississippi State Experience

Kotchagrai competed at Mississippi State beginning in 2020 and recorded two career top-20 finishes, including a fifth-place result at the Auburn Individual. During the 2022-23 season, Kotchagrai recorded a career-best collegiate round of 1-under-par 71 at The Ally.

Kotchagrai also posted a 54-hole score of 2-over-par 218 at The Show while competing as an individual. As a senior, Kotchagrai tied for 17th at The Ally.

Beyond competition, Kotchagrai earned a place on the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll for three consecutive years from 2022 through 2024 and majored in kinesiology. Before college, Kotchagrai competed in international junior and amateur tournaments, including events in Singapore and Thailand.

Scooter Clark Adds Coaching Experience

Clark spent the 2025-26 season as Charleston Southern University’s head coach. During his one season with the program, he coached the women’s team to two tournament victories and developed men’s golfer Dewi John into an NCAA Regional qualifier.

Clark served as the director of golf at North Carolina A&T from 2023 to 2025. Before that, he worked as the PGA of America’s director of collegiate championships from 2018 through 2023 and served as Bethune-Cookman’s director of intercollegiate golf from 2010 through 2016.

At Bethune-Cookman, Clark led the men’s team to the 2013 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championship and an NCAA Championship Regional Round appearance. Bethune-Cookman’s programs won 10 PGA WORKS Collegiate Championships during his tenure, while his coaching career includes 29 tournament team victories and 32 individual tournament championships.

Clark began his collegiate career at Southern University in 1987 and spent his final three years of collegiate golf at the University of Maryland after transferring. He has been a Class A PGA Professional since 2009 and earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Maryland.
