The Baysox entered the bottom of the sixth inning trailing 2-0 before seven consecutive batters reached base with one out. The win marked Chesapeake’s fourth in its last five games and left the club with a 32-25 second-half record and a 61-64 overall mark.
Chesapeake Baysox Break Through in Sixth Inning
Portland left-handed starter Dalton Rogers allowed only two baserunners through the first five innings. Aron Estrada opened the sixth-inning rally with an opposite-field single, followed by back-to-back home runs from Vance Honeycutt and Ethan Anderson.
Honeycutt’s home run was his second at the Double-A level and was estimated at 410 feet. Anderson’s home run was his 19th at Double-A this season. These back-to-back homers marked the sixth such occurrence for Chesapeake this season.
Wehiwa Aloy and Victor Figueroa followed with singles before a hit-by-pitch loaded the bases. Thomas Sosa then delivered a two-run opposite-field single, extending Chesapeake’s lead to 5-2.

Hunter’s 147 strikeouts across all levels rank fourth in Minor League Baseball. His 45 strikeouts since his Double-A debut on July 29 rank second at the level.
Reliever Richard Guasch earned the win after pitching a scoreless sixth inning. Portland scored on a Caden Rose double in the seventh, but Alex Pham struck out three in that inning. Micah Ashman pitched a scoreless eighth, and Jeisson Cabrera earned his sixth save by allowing no further damage in the ninth.

The Portland Sea Dogs added a run on a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning. Chesapeake entered the game five and a half games behind the Erie SeaWolves for the Eastern League Southwest Division second-half playoff spot, with 11 games remaining for both teams.
