The Frederick Keys clinched the South Atlantic League North Division’s first-half title and secured a playoff berth with a 6-5 win over the Spartanburgers on June 18, 2026. The achievement came during Frederick’s first season back in affiliated baseball, with the club finishing the opening half 41-23.
The Frederick Keys are the Baltimore Orioles’ High-A affiliate. The playoff berth is Frederick’s first since 2017.
Frederick Keys Set South Atlantic League Playoff Schedule
The Frederick Keys will open the South Atlantic League North Division Series on the road Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026. Playoff baseball will return to Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium in Frederick, Maryland, for Game 2 on Thursday, Sept. 10, and if necessary, a decisive Game 3 on Friday, Sept. 11. Should the Keys advance, the ballpark would also host Game 2 and, if necessary, Game 3 of the South Atlantic League Championship Series.
The first 2,000 fans attending the Sept. 10 home playoff game will receive a playoff rally towel presented by IBEW Local 24 and Rowan Digital Infrastructure. A post-game fireworks show sponsored by Mr. Pyro and Rowan Digital Infrastructure is also scheduled.
Renovated Nymeo Field Debuts During Return Season
The 2026 season included the debut of a renovated Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium. The project added expanded concourses, flexible seating areas, new hospitality spaces, new home and visiting clubhouses, and a 10,000-square-foot player performance center.
The City of Frederick, the Maryland Stadium Authority and Attain Sports completed the renovation through a partnership. The Frederick Keys also featured Orioles prospects Wehiwa Aloy and Ike Irish during the season.
Slater Fuchs, vice president of Attain Sports and general manager of the Frederick Keys, said the organization’s return to affiliated baseball, renovated ballpark and playoff berth have made 2026 a defining year.
“This has been a defining year for the Frederick Keys. We returned to affiliated baseball, opened a renovated Nymeo Field, and now we’re preparing to bring playoff baseball back to Frederick,” Fuchs said. “None of it happens without this community.
