Harrisburg Senators edged the Bowie Baysox 2-1 on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, in Bowie, Md. Isaac Lyon pitched 6.2 innings, allowing one run on five hits and two walks while striking out two, earning the win and improving to 5-4.
Four Harrisburg pitchers combined to hold the Baysox to one run on five hits. The Senators won despite going 0-for-12 with runners in scoring position and leaving nine runners on base.
Harrisburg Senators Take the Lead
Kervin Pichardo hit a leadoff home run in the second inning to give Harrisburg a 1-0 lead. T.J. White tripled to lead off the third inning, but the Senators could not bring him home.
Chesapeake tied the game in the fourth inning. Thomas Sosa doubled to lead off, then advanced to third on Wehiwa Aloy’s single to center field. Johnathon Thomas’ throw to the cutoff bounced past Ethan Petry, allowing Aloy to move to second while Sosa scored.
Caleb Lomavita attempted to throw out Aloy at second, but the throw went high into the outfield. Later in the inning, Cortland Lawson made a throw home to prevent another run, and Lomavita caught the runner going back to third on a throw to Devin Ortiz.
Senators Bullpen Protects One-Run Advantage
Harrisburg regained the lead in the seventh inning after back-to-back singles and a balk put runners on second and third with no outs. Johnathon Thomas grounded out with one out, allowing Sam Brown to score and giving the Senators a 2-1 lead.
Luke Young followed Lyon with 0.1 scoreless innings, walking one and striking out one. Jhancarlos Lara pitched a scoreless eighth inning, walking one and striking out two.
Sandy Gaston closed the game for his second save of the season. He retired the side in order and struck out two to preserve the Harrisburg Senators’ victory.

Harrisburg and Chesapeake are scheduled to play a doubleheader Wednesday at 5:35 p.m. Alex Clemmey is scheduled to start for Harrisburg with a 3-5 record, while Blake Brown is scheduled to start for Chesapeake with a 0-0 record.
