The Delmarva Shorebirds were shut out 11-0 by the Fredericksburg Nationals on Aug. 30, 2026, at Perdue Stadium in Salisbury, Maryland. The loss ended Delmarva’s home schedule and gave Fredericksburg the series victory.
Fredericksburg Nationals Take Early Control
The Fredericksburg Nationals scored three runs in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Jordan Williams and a two-run home run by Hunter Hines. The home run was Hines’ 13th of the season.
Fredericksburg added to its lead in the fifth inning when Juan Cruz hit a sacrifice fly that scored Williams. The Nationals then scored five runs on five hits in the seventh inning to extend their advantage to 9-0.
Cruz drove in another run with a groundout in the eighth inning after Coy James led off with a triple. Dashyll Tejeda added the final run on a fielder’s choice in the ninth inning.
Delmarva Shorebirds Finish Home Schedule
The Delmarva Shorebirds were listed at 44-82 overall and 21-39 in the additional record category provided in the game report. The Fredericksburg Nationals were listed at 74-51 overall and 28-31 in the corresponding category.
Delmarva was shut out for the third time that week. Alexander Meckley earned the win in relief for Fredericksburg and improved to 5-4, while Holden deJong took the loss and moved to 0-2.
The Shorebirds will begin their final regular-season series Tuesday against the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers. The six-game series is scheduled for Atrium Health Ballpark, with the opening game set for a 7 p.m. first pitch.
