The No. 11-ranked Howard Community College men’s soccer team defeated Prince George’s Community College 6-1 on Aug. 28, 2026, in Columbia, Maryland. Yeabsira Tesfaye led Howard with two goals and one assist as the team improved to 3-0-1 overall and 2-0 in Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference play.
Howard scored five goals in the opening 45 minutes before adding one more in the second half. The team outshot Prince George’s 33-12 and held a 19-7 advantage in shots on goal.
Howard Community College Builds Five-Goal First-Half Lead
Tesfaye opened the scoring in the fourth minute. Carson Feeser scored in the ninth and 11th minutes, and Kiar Sani added another goal in the 22nd minute to give Howard a 4-0 lead.
Prince George’s answered in the 29th minute when Abraham Tarawallie scored on an assist from Jose Reyes. Howard restored its four-goal advantage in the 42nd minute when Biruk Yitayew scored with an assist from Angel Giron-Ramos.
Tesfaye completed the scoring in the 79th minute with his second goal of the match. Yitayew assisted on the goal, while Lucas Britos and Giron-Ramos also recorded assists during the match.
Howard Finishes With 19 Shots on Goal
Howard generated 13 shots and four corner kicks in the second half. The team finished with a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Alejandro Dealverez played all 90 minutes in goal for Howard and made six saves. Prince George’s put seven shots on goal and scored once.
Howard entered the match ranked No. 11 in the NJCAA Division II national rankings. The team was scheduled to visit Garrett College on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at 5 p.m.

Howard created a decisive early advantage by scoring five times before halftime. Tesfaye and Feeser accounted for four of the team’s six goals, while the 19-7 edge in shots on goal reflected Howard’s offensive pressure.
Howard improved to 3-0-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play with the victory. The team’s next scheduled match is at Garrett College.
