The University of Maryland Eastern Shore women’s volleyball team lost to Florida A&M, 3-0, on August 29, 2026, in Huntsville, Alabama, to close the Alabama A&M Tournament. Florida A&M won the sets 25-18, 25-22 and 25-19.
The second set featured 11 ties and four lead changes. The Hawks held a 22-21 lead late before Florida A&M scored four consecutive points to take the set 25-22.
Florida A&M carried the momentum into the third and completed the sweep with a 25-19 victory.
Maryland Eastern Shore Women’s Volleyball Leaders
Karielys Melendez led Maryland Eastern Shore with 14 kills and a .303 hitting percentage. Rayah Howell added 10 kills while hitting .368.
Jayda Hutchins finished with 12 assists. Kate-Linh Eden recorded 10 assists, seven digs and two service aces. Maryland Eastern Shore hit .158 as a team compared with Florida A&M’s .292.
Maryland Eastern Shore Women’s Volleyball Schedule
The Hawks entered the match after earning their first victory of the season with a straight-set win over Mississippi Valley State on Friday. The team will return to action at the University of Maryland Tournament the following weekend.
Maryland Eastern Shore faces George Mason at noon and Hampton at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 5, in Fairfax, Virginia. The team then plays Maryland at 1 p.m. Sunday, September 6, in College Park.
