Ethan Anderson’s Two-Run Homer Leads Chesapeake Baysox to Rain-Shortened Win Over Harrisburg Senators

The Chesapeake Baysox defeated the Harrisburg Senators 2-0 on Aug. 27, 2026, at FNB Field in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in a rain-shortened Double-A game. Ethan Anderson hit a two-run home run in the top of the fifth inning off Harrisburg right-hander Luke Young, providing all of the game’s runs.

Anderson Supplies the Only Offense

Anderson’s home run was his 18th of the season and his first with the Baysox since being activated off the injured list Tuesday. Young took the loss and fell to 3-1.

The game entered a 39-minute rain delay after Colin Tuft saw three pitches to lead off the seventh inning. Storms persisted, and the game was eventually called official with Chesapeake holding its 2-0 lead.

Baysox Pitching Staff Records 11 Strikeouts

Right-hander Anthony Eyanson pitched 3 2/3 innings for Chesapeake, allowing three hits and three walks while striking out eight. He threw 85 pitches, including 52 strikes.

Eyanson has struck out at least eight batters in each of his four Baysox starts since joining the Orioles organization. His 32 strikeouts since his Chesapeake debut on Aug. 8 are the most by any pitcher in full-season Minor League Baseball.

Right-hander Brock Moore recorded the final out of the fourth inning and struck out the side in a perfect fifth. Moore earned the win, his first of the season, and improved to 1-1.

Right-hander Christian Herberholz pitched the sixth inning, allowing one hit while facing the minimum thanks to a ground-ball double play. He earned his first save as Chesapeake’s pitching staff combined for 11 strikeouts and the Baysox’s sixth shutout win of the season.

Chesapeake Baysox Continue Series in Harrisburg

Chesapeake improved to 29-24, 58-63 overall after the victory. The Baysox are the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, while the Harrisburg Senators are the Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals.

The Baysox were scheduled to continue the series in Harrisburg on Friday night, with right-hander JT Quinn set to start at 7 p.m. at FNB Field. Chesapeake also planned to begin its final 2026 homestand Tuesday, Sept. 1, with a six-game series against the Portland Sea Dogs, the Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. First pitch was scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
