Bowie State University women’s volleyball opens 2026 at a four-match Fairmont State Classic hosted by Fairmont State University in Fairmont, West Virginia. The event is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 28, and Saturday, Aug. 29, at the Feaster Center.
Bowie State University women’s volleyball schedule
Bowie State will face Fairmont State at 11 a.m. and East Stroudsburg at 3 p.m. Friday. The Bulldogs will then play Anderson University at 10 a.m. and Lees-McRae College at 4 p.m. Saturday.

After the Fairmont State Classic, Bowie State is scheduled to play at Norfolk State on Sept. 15 at 6 p.m.
Bowie State returns nine players
Bowie State finished the 2025 season with a 14-18 overall record and a 9-7 mark in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association play. The Bulldogs reached the semifinals of the 2025 conference championship tournament.
Head coach Edric Poitier is entering his fifth season leading Bowie State. The Bulldogs have nine returning players on the roster, while Gabby Hale joins the team after earning First Team All-CIAA honors as a setter at Bluefield State last season.
Hale was selected to the 2026 preseason team after transferring to Bowie State.
Fairmont State Classic field
Fairmont State finished 23-11 overall and 10-4 in Mountain East Conference play during the 2025 season. East Stroudsburg finished 27-6 overall and 13-1 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play and won the PSAC Championship.
Anderson University finished 23-8 overall and 16-4 in South Atlantic Conference play in 2025 and reached the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional. Lees-McRae College posted a 13-18 overall record and a 12-8 mark in Conference Carolinas play.
