Bowie State University Athletics has set a Bowie State football open walk-on tryout for Monday, Sept. 7, at 4 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium. The tryout is for students interested in joining the Bowie State Bulldogs for the 2026 season.
Before participating, students must complete the Bowie State Sports Medicine evaluation form and the Bowie State Athletics Tryout form. The BSU athletic training staff and compliance office must approve the required materials.
Bowie State Football Tryout Eligibility
Students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours for the Fall 2026 semester and must bring a copy of their class schedule to the tryout. Students also must complete and provide the required medical documents.
The requirements include the BSU TRYOUT PACKET, a physical form documenting a physical completed within the last 12 months, a copy of sickle cell test results and a copy of the current medical insurance card, front and back.
Medical Document Deadline
All medical documents must be submitted to the athletic trainers by the close of business Friday, Sept. 4, 2026. The athletic training office is located in the back of the Leonidas James Physical James Complex.
Students who do not complete and submit all required materials on time will not be able to try out. For more information, contact Coach Avery Williams at anwilliams@bowiestate.edu.
