Maryland Black Bears Hockey Forward Tanner Duncan Commits to Stonehill College After 75-Point NAHL Season

Maryland Black Bears hockey forward Tanner Duncan committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Stonehill College. The 5-foot-11 forward from Ridgefield, Connecticut, will skate with the Skyhawks in the fall and join teammate Owen Drury.

Duncan scored 28 goals and recorded 47 assists for 75 points in 54 regular-season games during the 2025-26 season. He ranked second on the Maryland Black Bears in both goals and assists, tied for seventh overall in the North American Hockey League regular season and led the team with 10 power-play goals and seven game-winning goals.

Tanner Duncan Delivered a Productive 2025-26 Season

Duncan finished the regular season with a plus-39 rating and recorded points in 45 of his 54 games. He also put together a 31-game point streak that ran from Nov. 21, 2025, through March 21, 2026.

His regular-season performance earned him recognition as a Top Prospect at the 2026 Top Prospect Tournament, where he played for the East Division team. Duncan also made the All-East Division Team and was named an East Division Star of the Week on Oct. 27, 2025.

Duncan Helped the Maryland Black Bears Win the Robertson Cup

Duncan continued his production in the postseason, recording six goals and 15 assists for 21 points in 10 games. He posted seven multi-point games and helped the Maryland Black Bears win their first Robertson Cup trophy as an organization.

Duncan shared his excitement about joining Stonehill College in a statement posted on social media.

“I am proud to announce my commitment to play NCAA Division I hockey and further my education at Stonehill College. I’d like to thank my family, coaches, teammates, advisors and everyone who helped me along the way. I am grateful and excited for this opportunity and the future.”

Stonehill College Adds Another Maryland Black Bears Player

Duncan will join Owen Drury at Stonehill College in the fall. He is one of 10 Maryland Black Bears players to make a Division I hockey college commitment.

Duncan began his junior career during the 2024-25 season and played 45 games for Maryland, scoring 14 goals and recording 12 assists. Maryland Black Bears head coach and general manager Clint Mylymok credited Duncan’s dedication to his development.

“Tanner epitomizes what a Maryland Black Bear player is. Humble, competitive, relentless, and dedicated to the process. Duncs has never been handed anything. He has truly earned this commitment. He is a motivated kid and will fit in well with Stonehill College and its values. We could not be prouder of Tanner, and we’re excited to see him continue his hockey career as a student-athlete, wearing the Skyhawks jersey. Congrats to Tanner and his family!”
