The Chesapeake Baysox Baseball Series Finale Against Reading Fightin Phils was canceled by rain on Sunday night in Reading, Pennsylvania. The game will not be made up because the teams are not scheduled to meet again during the 2026 regular season.
Chesapeake won the series by taking three of the five games played during the week. The victory marked the Baysox’s second road series win of the season.
Baysox Remain in Eastern League Playoff Race
The Chesapeake Baysox, the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, are five and a half games behind the Erie SeaWolves for first place in the Eastern League Southwest division’s second-half playoff berth. Both teams have 24 games remaining in the 2026 regular season following the cancellation.
The Reading Fightin Phils are the Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. Chesapeake is scheduled to return home for a six-game series against the Richmond Flying Squirrels, the Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants.
Chesapeake Baysox Homestand Includes Six Promotions
The next homestand is scheduled to begin Tuesday at Prince George’s Stadium, with first pitch set for 6:35 p.m. ET. Military Appreciation Night is scheduled for Tuesday and is presented by John’s Hopkins Community Physicians, while Woof Wednesday is presented by Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
Baysox Live Happy Hour is scheduled for Thursday and is presented by Budweiser. Friday’s Back to School Night includes a Crayola crayon set giveaway, postgame fireworks presented by Educational Systems Federal Credit Union and Kids Run the Bases presented by Raising Canes.
Saturday, August 22, is Football Night with former Maryland Terrapin and Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl champion Jermaine Lewis. The event also includes postgame fireworks and Kids Run the Bases presented by Raising Canes.
Sunday, August 23, is SpongeBob Splash Day with specialty themed jerseys. The day also includes pregame autographs from select Baysox players, 30 minutes of free Kids Park access before the game and all fans running the bases postgame, presented by Wegmans.
