Miguel Rodriguez Delivers Delmarva Shorebirds Walk-Off Win as the Delmarva Shorebirds defeated the Salem RidgeYaks, 3-2, on Aug. 11, 2026, in Salisbury, Maryland. Rodriguez hit a game-winning single up the middle in the ninth inning to score Jemone Nuel and give Delmarva its first walk-off victory of the season.

The victory opened the series for the Delmarva Shorebirds and improved their record to 38-71 overall and 15-28 in the standings listed by the source. The Salem RidgeYaks entered the game at 47-60 overall and 22-20 in those standings, while Yermain Ruiz took the loss and fell to 3-3.

Delmarva Shorebirds Take Early Lead

The Salem RidgeYaks scored first in the second inning when Skylar King hit an RBI single that brought home Josue Brito. Delmarva tied the game in the third inning on Eric Booth Jr.’s first career hit, which drove in Juan Ortega.

Jaiden Lo Re then put the Delmarva Shorebirds ahead with an RBI groundout that scored Ty Head. Salem RidgeYaks tied the game in the sixth inning when Louis Andujar singled home Wills Maginnis, making the score 2-2.

Francisco Morao and Andrew Herbert Hold Salem

Francisco Morao made his first Single-A start for the Delmarva Shorebirds and pitched 4.2 innings. He struck out four, walked none and allowed one unearned run on three hits.

Andrew Herbert followed with 4.1 innings in relief, allowing one run on two hits and striking out four. He retired 10 of the final 11 batters he faced, helping keep the game tied into the ninth inning.

Herbert earned the victory and improved to 5-3. Yermain Ruiz took the loss for the Salem RidgeYaks and fell to 3-3.

Miguel Rodriguez Wins It in the Ninth

The Delmarva Shorebirds loaded the bases with back-to-back walks in the bottom of the ninth inning, putting the winning run at second. Rodriguez then delivered the decisive single up the middle, scoring Jemone Nuel and ending the game.

The 3-2 result gave the Delmarva Shorebirds their first walk-off win of the season. The teams were scheduled to meet again Wednesday, with KK Clark set to make his third start for Delmarva against Christian Foutch of the Salem RidgeYaks, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Miguel Rodriguez provided the defining hit, but the Delmarva Shorebirds also received important contributions from Francisco Morao and Andrew Herbert. Morao limited Salem to one unearned run in his first Single-A start, while Herbert kept the game even through the late innings.

The victory gave Delmarva a 3-2 series-opening win and its first walk-off result of the season.
