Notre Dame of Maryland University Women’s Lacrosse Named IWLCA Academic Honor Squad with Three Players on Academic Honor Roll

The Notre Dame of Maryland University Women’s Lacrosse team earned recognition as an Academic Honor Squad by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) for achieving a team GPA of 3.2 or higher during the academic year. Additionally, three players—Ariana Rodriguez, Jillian Seay, and Adrienne Villa—were named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll for outstanding academic achievement.

Academic Honor Squad and Individual Honor Roll Distinctions

The IWLCA Academic Honor Squad designation requires a team to maintain a collective GPA of at least 3.2. Individual selection to the Academic Honor Roll mandates that student-athletes be juniors, seniors, or graduate students with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above.

Ariana Rodriguez, a junior midfielder and Biology Pre-Medicine student from Haslet, Texas, finished third on the team with six goals and eight points, including a hat trick against Bryn Mawr on March 25. She was among those recognized on the Academic Honor Roll.

Senior defender Jillian Seay, a Political Science major from Baltimore, led the team with 12 ground balls this season, including a season-best three during the United East tournament game against St. Mary’s. Seay also received Academic Honor Roll honors.

Junior defender Adrienne Villa, a Business major from Baltimore, led the Gators by causing nine turnovers and contributed two goals and two assists this season, all personal bests. She was also named to the Academic Honor Roll.

Program Commitment to Scholastic and Athletic Excellence

This accolade underscores Notre Dame of Maryland University Women’s Lacrosse’s dedication to balancing rigorous academic demands with competitive athletics. The team’s commitment to high academic standards within the IWLCA reflects the student-athlete ideal embraced by the program.
