Ravens Rumored to Sign Former All-Pro, Gurley

Since meeting with the Ravens in early June, former Los Angeles Ram and Atlanta Falcons running back Todd Gurley has been heavily rumored to sign with the team.

The market for the Baltimore born running back has been fairly cold as he has failed to reach the 1,000 yard mark each of the last two seasons. The struggles for Gurley began at the end of the 2018 season. After it was reported the running back has arthritis in his left knee, following their Super Bowl lose to the Patriots that season.

Gurley, who was drafted by the Rams with the 10th overall selection in 2015. Was released by the Rams at the end of the 2019 season, after rushing for 857 yards on 223 carries and adding 12 touchdowns.

Gurley would go on to sign a one-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons for the 2020 season.

In 15 games for Atlanta, Gurley rushed for 678 yards on 195 attempts and nine touchdowns. While also adding 164 receiving yards on 25 catches out of the backfield. Gurley split much of his time in the Falcons backfield with running backs Brian Hill and Ito Smith.

While it appears the three-time pro bowlers best years are behind him. The Ravens could be adding a veteran who could help manage the work load for both Gus Edwards and J.K Dobbins especially early on in the year. Likely to sign on just a one year deal for close to the vet minimum, the Ravens could have another low risk high reward player who at times has flashed back to their former pro bowl level.
