Recap: Late Inning Magic Leads Nats to Win.

The Nats tied the series at one tonight, getting a victory after some late inning magic. Patrick Corbin gave the Nats a quality start tonight going 6IP 4H 0ER 0BB 5K’s. It was a start that Corbin needed, after having two shaky first starts of the year combining for 6.1IP 12H 15ER 7BB 6K’s.

The Nats offense started off with Josh Bell’s home run in the bottom of the 6th. It was Bell’s first home run as a National, tallying his 86th of his career. After the Cardinals took the lead in the 7th, the Nats had some late inning magic to take home the victory. Trea Turner singled in the 8th, scoring Andrew Stevenson, tying the game at two at the point. Nats produced their final run of the game when Yan Gomes walked with the bases loaded, scoring Josh Harrison.

The Nats forced a rubber match tomorrow Wednesday, 4/21 to win the series. The Nats will be sending out ace Max Scherzer, looking for his first win of the year. The Cardinals will be sending out Carlos Martinez who is 0-3 with a 7.80 ERA. First pitch is scheduled at 4:05PM.
