Capitals vs. Panthers Preview: November 7, 2019
The Washington Capitals once again hit the road to travel south. They face the Florida Panthers in a battle of Eastern Conference rivals. Both teams are riding high with something to prove as they face off for the first time this season. A hot start for the Caps will be tested as they face a quality opponent in Florida.
The Caps are riding high at 11-2-3. Their 25 points is the most in the league, one ahead of Boston. Strong seasons by both Alex Ovechkin (11g, 8a) and John Carlson (7g, 16a) have been keeping Washington well in contention. Though as good as they have been at home, the Caps have dominated on the road, with a 7-1-1 record. The Panthers are no slouches either. A 7-3-4 record keeps them in control of the first wild card and pushes them forward as they face a competitive East. Former Capital Brett Connolly has proven a breakout star on the team, with his fast style of play keeping the team in contention.
