Capitals vs. Maple Leafs Preview: October 29, 2019
The Washington Capitals continue their Canada tour in Toronto. They look to catch another quality win against the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight and further distance themselves in the Metro Conference. While the Caps are on the rise, Toronto is lagging. This game should set the teams apart.
The Caps are 8-2-3, with two straight games with a point. They are three points ahead of the Islanders atop the Metro Division and just one point behind the Sabres for the Eastern Conference. John Carlson still leads the league in assists with sixteen, and Alex Ovechkin’s nine goals are leading to another monumental season for the veteran. The Leafs however fell fast. Once atop their division, they are now 6-5-2, with just two points separating them from the Lightning for the final Wild Card spot.
The Leafs previously visited Capital One Arena last month, in a game the Caps won 4-3 in comeback fashion. This match will show even less mercy as the Caps come from a similar comeback in Vancouver. No matter what happens, this game will make for great theater.
