Capitals preview- Washington scored there first power play goal in the last seven games, when Ovechkin lit the lamp in the second period. Currently, Ovechkin remains the hottest player on the team, as he has scored five points (2G-3A) in the last five games. Since Holtby played last night, expect Phillip Grubauer to be in goal for the Capitals.

Sabres preview- Buffalo is in last place in the Eastern Conference, and the reasons are goaltending, in which the team is ranked next to last in goals allowed (3.7 per game). The projected starter for tonight, Robin Lehner, has a 3.25 GAA. Also, the Sabres offense has been anemic, as they rank 29th in both goals per game (2.5) and on the power play (12.5%). Some positives for the Sabres, are Ryan O’Reilly has scored eleven points (5G-6A) in his last nine games. Kyle Okposo and Jason Pominville has six points (3G-3A) in his last five games against Washington. Finally, Buffalo’s leading scorer, Evander Kane, has six career two-point games against the Capitals.
