Nationals score big over White Sox 6-4: Recap 6/5/19

The Washington Nationals beat the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday afternoon at Nationals Park in regular season action. The Nats record currently stands at 27-33. The White Sox drop to 29-32.

Anibal Sanchez pitched a very strong five innings for Washington. Sanchez allowed four hits and seven strikeouts while pitching. Tanner Rainey allowed one hit and strikeout in relief for Washington.

At the bottom of the third inning, catcher Kurt Suzuki singled to right center, Matt Adams scored.

In addition, in the bottom of the fourth inning, Suzuki grounded into fielder’s choice to shortstop, Juan Soto scored, Adams out at second, Kendrick to third.

Additionally, in the bottom of the sixth, center fielder Victor Robles hit sacrifice fly to right, Adams scored, Suzuki to third. On top of that, in the bottom of the sixth, Suzuki scored on an error by shortstop Anderson, Parra safe at first on error by shortstop Anderson.

Finally, Trea Turner homered to the left (399 feet), Dozier scored.

With a win over the White Sox, the Nationals head to San Diego for a four game series with the Padres starting tomorrow night at 10:05pm at Petco Park. Pitching for the Nationals will be Patrick Corbin.
