Nationals beat D-backs 7-3: Recap 6/14/19

The Washington Nationals beat the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday evening at Nationals Park in regular season action. The Nats record currently stands at 32-37. The D-backs drop to 37-34.

Max Scherzer pitched a very strong seven innings for Washington. Scherzer allowed three hits and ten strikeouts while pitching. Sean Doolittle allowed one hit and two strikeouts in relief for Washington.

In the bottom of the third, shortstop Trea Turner doubled to left, Taylor scored, Scherzer to third. As well as, right fielder Victor Robles hit sacrifice fly to left, Max Scherzer scored. Also, left fielder Juan Soto singled to left, Turner scored.

At the top of the sixth inning, third basemen Anthony Rendon homered to left center (414 feet).

In addition to, in the bottom of the sixth, first baseman Howie Kendrick homered to left (405 feet).

In the bottom of the seventh, Robles singled to shallow left, Michael A. Taylor scored, Turner to third. In addition, Rendon hit sacrifice fly to center, Turner scored.

With a win over the D-backs, the Nationals play game three of the series today at 4:05pm. Pitching for the Nationals will be Stephen Strasburg.
