It’s Moulson Time in Hershey and a Order of Djoos in DC.

Today was a mixed bag of news for the Capitals and bears depending on whom you are fan of, if you are a Hershey fan it is a Good Day, if a Caps fan good news with a price. So let’s get to it:

First up, Hershey Bears signed former New York Islander, Buffalo Sabre, Wild and LA King Matt Moulson to a 1 year AHL deal. This isn’t Matt’s first ride through the AHL, he did time in Manchester (2006-09) even playing against the Chocolate and White in 2006 ECF, last season he played in Ontario Reign (LA Kings) as there leading scorer with 62 pts (28G-34A)

This is a HUGE signing for the Bears, not only do they get the best FA still on the market (Ranked 13th among forwards) but they get a PP sniper and scoring depth which they desperately needed. Matt played with Maulett whom also signed with Hershey a few weeks ago, the NHL veteran brings 650 NHL games experience to a young core looking to make the Caps roster someday. Also, Matt is going to reach his 1,000th game this season, Moulson’s scoring ability with Sgarbossa’s passing and the scoring comes from the young guns, could see Hershey return to the top of the Atlantic once again.

Now onto Dc, Christian Djoos reached a deal through arbitrator today: 1 year/1.25 million deal. Good news for Djoos for reaching a deal with the Caps, but it comes with a price, the Capitals are over the Cap with this signing.
The Cpas have a 81.8 million salary right now
The salary Cap limit is 81.5 million

Chandler Stephenson still unsigned with the current Cap situation, I doubt that he could be signed.
Now the summer is still young and trades could be made, a player could be sent down to Hershey for Cap relief, or something else could happen, the NHL can be weird sometimes.
