Hershey Vs WBS Penguins Preview, 10/4

Finally, we are here after months of clickbait articles, radio silence and waiver wire drama we are here at Opening Night 20-19, the Red Carpet Gala with seeing Bears players get the red carpet entrance, then we play hockey.

The first game of the season will see Hershey face off against their rivals up I-81, Wilkes-Barre Scarton Penguin, proud affitale of the back to back….ok, I’ll stop, Pittsburgh Penguins.

Last Season, Hershey dominated the season series going 9-3 against the Baby Pens including a 6 game winning streak to end the season.

For both teams, this is there opening night, with Hershey being at home and WBS opening on the road.

Like Hershey, WBS experienced a lot of turnover with established WBS names leaving or getting called up such as Ethan Prow, Adam Johnson, Teddy Blueger, Zach Trotman, Dominik Simon. However, they have brought back David Warsofsky (and Team Captain) and Kevin Czuczman to anchor the blueline.
WBS also fired Donatelli and hired Mike Vellucci from Charlotte and made him GM while they were at it.
Casey DeSmith and Tristan Jarry switched goalie spots with Pittsburgh and WBS, sending DeSmith down to AHL with rookie Alex D’Orio.
D’Orio started last Saturday in Hershey taking an OTL after AJ scored on him in OT.

It’s always good to kick off the 81 rivalry this time of year, I can not wait to get Giant Center tomorrow night.
