Capitals, Bears, Stingrays all make playoffs

The Washington Capitals, Hershey Bears and the South Carolina Stingrays have all made the playoffs. Both the Hershey Bears (AHL) and the South Carolina Stingrays (ECHL) are both the minor league affiliates of the Washington Capitals.

This is a huge accomplishment for the entire organization proving how well General Manager Brian MacLean has drafted players, and signed players throughout the off-season. Having all three teams in the playoffs is a huge accomplishment being one of four teams to accomplish this.

The Caps defending their Stanley Cup title finished the regular season winning the Metropolitan Division for the fourth straight year. The Caps record was 48-26-8. The Bears finished the season with a 40-25-3 record. The Stingrays had a 35-31-5-1 record.

It would be a rare accomplishment to win all three trophies. Another Stanley Cup would be great, but having a Calder Cup (AHL) and a Kelly Cup (ECHL) along with Lord Stanley would be a difficult task.

The Capitals play the Carolina Hurricanes. Hershey will play Lehigh Valley Phantoms. South Carolina will play Orlando Solar Bears.
