Claressa Shields vs. Christina Hammer: Boxing’s Own “End Game”

With NXT Takeover, the WWE Hall of Fame and WrestleMania this weekend I have had very little time to talk about anything else. Game of thrones returns, Avengers “End Game” the NFL Draft and a couple big MMA fights are all on tap this April, and so are Shields and Hammer. Shields vs Hammer battle of the undefeated deserves better. These two Women will host their own “End Game” as we see who holds the most powerful weapon. Claressa’s Shield or Cristina’s Hammer. when two unbeaten champions clash to unify the middleweight title in the biggest event to ever hit the ring in Women’s boxing. Fight fans these two Women hold all the gold and April 13th at the Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City somebody’s O has got to go!!

Claressa “T-Rex” Shields stands 5’8″ with a 68″ reach. The undefeated 24 year old prodigy is considered one of if not THE best young female fighter in the business. Claressa is a two time Olympic champion and the first ever American male or female to win back to back gold medals. Shields record is unblemished at 8-0 with victories over Szilvia Szabados, Nikki Adler, Tori Nelson and Hanna Gabriels just to name a few. With 6 wins coming via Unanimous decision and only two by way of TKO one might think she doesn’t have much power, one would be wrong. Fighting out of Flint Michigan Claressa is a blue collar fighter who works hard and doesn’t mind it getting a little dirty (In tight and up close boxing not a reference to her cheating) and mixing it up with anyone, including Christina Hammer. Shields historically loves to work her jab and try to find angles to strike her opponent and out score them and I expect the same from her next weekend.

Christina “Lady” Hammer stands 5’11” with a 71″ reach. The 28 year old German sensation is also undefeated holding an amazing record of 24-0. Our “Lady” has defeated names like Zita Zatyko, Jessica Balogun, Anne Sophie Mathis, Maria Lindberg and has a mutual win over Tori Nelson. Christina has delivered 11 KO/TKO victories in her 24 wins. Power radiates in both hands and she enjoys letting the Hammers fly. Hammer was the youngest fighter in history to win a WBO title. Our “Lady” has earned Fighter of the Year by the WBF and WBO, BDB’s Female Boxer of the Year and the WBO awarded her with the WBO Diamond Ring for exceptional performance, Christina won the International German Junior Championships in 2007 and followed in 2008 by winning the German National Championships. Expect Christina to try and work her jab early looking to score on a hard right follow ups. Christina likes to wear her opponents down and then look to drop the hammer on them.

This one is historic and should be an amazing fight from both Women. Two undefeated multi champions with one goal to unify the middleweight division. April it seems is “Action April” and the Avengers aren’t the only one hosting an “End Game”. Captain America isn’t the only one with a Shield and Thor isn’t the only one with a Hammer. Behold two beauties fighting like beasts.
