Caps head to North Carolina to face the Hurricanes in an outdoor game at NC State Stadium

The Washington Capitals head to Raleigh in the midst of a three game losing streak. This losing streak has taken Washington out of the playoff race as of now. The Hurricanes are in first place in the Metropolitan Division, meanwhile the Capitals are sitting in sixth place. The Hurricanes won in Washington on Tuesday in a preview of this game.

The Capitals have looked abysmal in the last few games. Darcy Kuemper has looked like a mediocre goalie. Kuemper who has started 37 games this season, has a record of 16-16-4. Charlie Lindgren who has started 24 games, has a record of 12-7-2. Kuemper who has a goals against average of 2.63 per game, has a save percentage of .914. These are respectable numbers, however Kuemper is looking very beatable in these past few games.

Alex Ovechkin is not with the team for the third game in a row after the death of his father. While the team is missing the captain, it is supposed to be up to the rest of the team to step up, which they have not done. While it is not entirely on Ovechkin to carry the team, they have also had their fare share of adversity in dealing with injuries. They are the most injured team in the league.

The game is being broadcast on National TV being shown on ABC at 8:00 tonight.
