Updated:Ravens sign running back Draughn
The Baltimore Ravens announced today that they have signed former Kansas City Chiefs running back Shaun Draughn. Draughn will add depth to the running back group but will probably be a special teams player.
Draughn had two touchdowns and two fumbles for the Chiefs in limited carries last season.
It is an interesting move, the Ravens could have signed Anthony Allen who is a super special teams player who is currently a free agent. The Ravens have not announced who they are cutting, my guess would be one of their wide receivers, possibly Aaron Mellette if he can clear waivers to the practice squad.
UPDATE: It looks like it is Mellette that will be off the roster, but he will still be on the team. Mellette placed on IR.
Here is the tweet from the Ravens about the move.
Former Chiefs RB Shaun Draughn is in the locker room after being signed. No update yet on a corresponding roster move.
