Ravens looking good ahead of launch of sports betting in Maryland

The NFL season is approaching with July being the last month without football. Maryland has recently legalized sports betting in Maryland with local casinos undergoing construction and revamping in preparation for the new laws. The expected revenue for Maryland is expected to be very large with the opening approximate opening set for September.

Maryland hopes to have three in state pro teams playing during the opening. The Baltimore Orioles will be finishing up their season. Even with as bad as the Orioles have been there should still be some fun betting lines for the team.

September for the Orioles could be fun, with rosters expanding Orioles may be treated to seeing some exciting young prospects like Adley Rutschman. The Orioles may also be in position to upset some teams looking to make the playoffs. I am sure the odds will be against the Orioles to beat the good teams deep in the playoff stretch but those bets may payout big if the Orioles do win.

The Washington Football Team is expected to have a solid season in the very weak NFC East. WFT’s main focus was boosting their offense that struggled to find a steady quarterback. The quarterback room will be different for WFT. WFT released Dwayne Haskins late last season, and Alex Smith retired in the offseason. WFT signed veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick and Taylor Heinicke who impressed in the Playoff loss the the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

There is a good chance that WFT repeats as NFC East Champions but remember they won with only seven wins and a below .500 record. The division is weak but WFT has a strong defense and young talent to help them compete. WFT can beat the subpar teams so placing a bet on the below average teams may be a good idea.

The Baltimore Ravens are the best team in the state, they make the playoffs regularly. The Ravens are considered one of the best teams in the NFL. Quarterback Lamar Jackson will be entering his fourth NFL season and third as the full time starter for the Ravens. The Ravens are expected once again to make the playoffs.

The Ravens have one of the best running attacks in the NFL. J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards will get the primary share of the load. The running game for the Ravens has never been a struggle with Jackson under center.

The Ravens hope to also open up the deep passing game, which did lack last season. The Ravens drafted wide receiver Rashod Bateman in the first round and WR Tylan Wallace in the fourth round. The Ravens also signed veteran receiver Sammy Watkins in the offseason. The Ravens look to be more explosive threw the air.

With sports betting and fall sports close to being under way their is a lot to be excited about. Not to mention the Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards, while they may not play in Maryland have a huge fan base in this state.
