Ravens get four compensatory pics, total eight for 2014 NFL draft
The Baltimore Ravens have been awarded four compensatory draft picks for the 2014 NFL draft, the league maximum. The Ravens will receive a third round pick, two fourth round picks and a fifth round pick. The Ravens have a total of eight draft picks for the 2014 NFL as of now.
As of now the Ravens have a first, second, two thirds, two fourths, fifth and sixth round pick. The third and fourth round picks are extremely valuable and Ozzie Newsome and the Ravens value draft picks more than most teams.
I think the Ravens need to still add to their offensive line depth, despite adding Jeremy Zuttah and keeping Eugene Monroe. The weakness of the offensive line showed last season and the lack of depth showed last season when Kelechi Osemele went down due to injury. The Ravens also still need a true free safety and middle linebacker depth. Drafting a tight end might also be a good idea for the Ravens.
It will be an interesting draft for the Ravens, who have more than enough draft picks to make major upgrades and plan for the future.
Here is the tweet from the Ravens about the draft picks.
#Ravens currently have 8 picks heading into 2014 Draft. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd (comp), 4th (comp), 4th (comp), 5th and 6th.
