Orioles rank third in ESPN's power rankings
The Baltimore Orioles have the second best record in Major League Baseball and are moving up in ESPN’s power rankings. The Orioles have been stuck ranked number five for a few weeks and have finally moved up to the third spot. The only two teams ahead of the Orioles are the Washington Nationals and the LA Angels. The Orioles have beat both the Angels and the Nats in the season series.
The Orioles have still struggled to get national media attention even with their large AL East lead but at least they are getting recognized for their great record. The Orioles continue to have a great season despite injuries to Matt Wieters and Manny Machado. The bench for the Orioles has been fantastic all season and backup players have contributed in a huge way.
Hopefully the Orioles will be ranked first by the end of the season. It can be argued that the Orioles should be ranked number one based on their head to head record against the Angels and the Nationals. For the full power rankings go here.
