Official press release on the Boldin trade

I know I already blogged about this trade today but here is the Ravens official press release on the Boldin trade.

The Baltimore Ravens have traded WR Anquan Boldin to the San Francisco 49ers for a 2013 draft choice, Ozzie Newsome, the Ravens’ general manager and executive vice president, officially announced Tuesday. The completion of the trade is dependent on Boldin passing a physical when he returns from a charity trip he is currently making.

Newsome saluted Boldin, who played the last three seasons for the Ravens:

“Managing and assembling your roster is difficult and among the most important things we do,” Newsome stated. “It is not always pleasant, and in the case of Anquan, it is unpleasant. We know he can still play at a high level. What he has done in his three seasons with us goes well beyond the numbers, and his numbers are very good. He fit in as a Raven from Day One. His leadership, just by the way he played and prepared, was a powerful force for us. And when we needed the tough catch in important times, he made those. Look at his production in our Super Bowl run. He stepped up in a big way. When he wasn’t targeted, or when we weren’t passing, his blocking was outstanding. We all thank ‘Q’ for what he did for the Ravens over the last three years.”

Playing in 45 games for the Ravens, the 11-year NFL veteran totaled 186 receptions for 2,645 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns.

During the 2012 regular season campaign, he led the Ravens in catches (65) and receiving yards (921), also posting four receiving touchdowns. In four postseason games – culminating with Baltimore’s 34-31 victory over the 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII – Boldin registered 22 catches for 380 yards and four touchdowns. He had six receptions for 104 yards and one touchdown in the Super Bowl.
