Jim Caldwell hired as Lions head coach
The Baltimore Ravens will need to find a new offensive coordinator as Jim Caldwell has been hired as the Detroit Lions head coach. Caldwell came to the Ravens in 2012 to be the Ravens quarterbacks coach and was promoted to offensive coordinator later in the season.
This is not the first time Caldwell was a head coach, he coached Indianapolis from 2009 to 2011. Caldwell helped the Ravens offensive win the Super Bowl in 2012 and helped guide quarterback Joe Flacco. The poor offensive line really hurt the Ravens offense in the 2013 season but Caldwell was still getting interviews for head coaching jobs.
Caldwell is going to a good team in the Lions, who have a very talented offensive and great defensive line.
The Ravens seem to have an interest in Norv Turner and that seems to be the Ravens best bet at offensive coordinator. Turner has proven success at running high powered offenses, the knock on him has been head coaching.
