Capitals travel to New York for a game against the Rangers
The Washington Capitals almost gave up a four goal lead on Sunday to the Rangers. It was a solid 40 minute game out of 60. This needs to be a more complete game as the standings in the Eastern division are very close and the team could use the two points for winning.
The first key to winning is to shore up the defense. For some reason when the team gets a big goal lead (3+) then the defense is the first thing to go. In the playoffs and down the stretch, opposing teams will take advantage of this so look for it to be tightened up.
During the past few games, the power play has been abysmal. If the team can’t take advantage of having a man up benefit, as the games get harder down the stretch, then the games will be harder to win.
