Capitals winners of six straight, welcome the Rangers to town

The Washington Capitals play the New York Rangers in the first of a weekend back to back series. The Capitals look to move up in the standings and get a little distance between themselves and the Islanders.

In the previous games, the Capitals have been very disciplined in staying out of the penalty box. They have cut back to one or two penalties a game which is very good.

The Capitals have also been winning the battle at the faceoff dot. This is a very crucial because it allows the team to not only retain possession but also play at the pace they wanna play at.

Finally the defense and goaltending has been suburb. Ilya Samsonov is looking like he is back to form after his battle with covid and coming back from that. The defense has also been very sharp around the net in getting pucks out of the defensive zone and clearing on penalty kills.

The game is at 7 on NBC sports Washington and can be heard on 106.7 fm
