Orioles recall pitcher Josh Rogers from Triple-A Norfolk

The Baltimore Orioles have officially recalled left-handed pitcher, Josh Rogers, from Norfolk. The 24-year-old lefty was scratched from starting the opening game of a double-header Tuesday night at Triple-A Norfolk. Rogers, who was acquired from the New York Yankees last summer for relief pitcher, Zack Britton, made three starts with the Orioles in 2018, allowing 11 earned runs in 11 2/3 innings.

Rogers, who has five options left to the minors, was originally an eleventh round selection, 333 overall by the New York Yankees in 2015. He is currently 0-1 in Triple-A Norfolk with a 5.40 ERA in just one game started. He went five innings in the game, giving up seven hits, three earned runs and three strikeouts. Rogers holds a 30-21 overall record in the minor leagues, with a 3.10 ERA, 386 innings pitched, and 315 strikeouts.
