Judon Earns AFC POTW Honors

Outside linebacker, Matthew Judon, won the AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors after his dominating performance in the 23-0 win against the Green Bay Packers.Judon had a career game against the Packers, notching 6 tackles along with two sacks and a forced fumble. Judon seemed to be everywhere on the field, especially in quarterback Brett Hundley’s face.

Judon, a second year player out of division two Grand Valley State University, has been a force to be reckoned with all season long. He has 40 tackles on the year, along with five sacks, two tipped passes, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

Judon is proving he is the newest piece in the Baltimore Ravens’ outside linebacker factory. If there is one position the Ravens draft and develop well, it is unanimously linebackers. Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs, CJ Mosley, Paul Kruger, Zach Orr, and now Matthew Judon are some of the dominating talent that the Ravens had developed.

With Suggs on the way out, it is very encouraging to see someone playing so dominant taking over. Hopefully rookies Tyus Bowser and Tim Williams will be able to develop just as quickly and can cause havoc in opposing backfields for years to come.
