Between Rounds: Candice “Candi Crush” Mitchell

Candice Mitchell hails from Trinidad and Tobago. She resides and fights out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada where she is known for being cooler than a Canadian winter. March of 2016 “Candi Crush” became the first woman to win an MTO (Muay Thai Ontario). Muay Thai title. “I found my true passion when I took my first martial arts class. In addition to being a great workout and a discipline, I’ve discovered that it was also a great venue for relieving stress and improving mood. I’ve trained in Capoeira, boxing, MMA and Muay Thai” Candice was quoted. Training with both Phuket Top Team (Thailand) and Combat Sports Academy (CSA) Candice is as ready as she has ever been.

Two month’s later at the age of 34 she traveled to Thailand and made her professional debut. Earning a win over Kiri Elizabeth Dale via TKO it kick started a 4 fight Muay Thai win streak where she finished every opponent with viscous intentions. “My aspirations are to become World Champion, and to remain a lifelong student of the martial arts” Mitchell proclaimed. Candice dropped a tight decision in her pro kickboxing debut against Laëtitia Madjene in October of 2016 a night that ignited an ever hotter flame inside her. Mitchell bounced back with 4 more consecutive Muay Thai victory’s one by way of decision one by KO and two via TKO “Candi Crush” was back and better than ever.

Candice suffered her first Muay Thai loss as a pro at the WMC Women’s Fight World Championship, Hua Hin, Thailand against Sawsing Sor Sopit in a heated 5 round decision. Bouncing back with a TKO win in her next fight Candice seemed back on track with a record of 9-1 in pro Muay Thai. Once again the judges came into play in a 3 round decision loss to Yodsritrang Buakew and yet again “Candi Crush” responded with back to back TKO wins including a brilliant TKO victory over Lola Russo. Sitting at 11-2 in pro Muay Thai she fired off 3 straight wins via decision but this time she left no room for error with the judges and capped off a 5 fight win streak.

Candice sits at 13-2-0-1(NC) and is preparing to make her Lion Fight debut this Saturday night in Albuquerque NM. All the training, the preparation and the desire to be the very best results in Whitney Tobin standing across the ring from this beautiful badass. She might be sweet as Candi but she will crush your dreams faster than the Hulk and Saturday night “Candi Crush” has very bad intentions. Lion Fight delivers three big title fights and some very talented fighters so check it out Saturday night on CBS Sports Network LION FIGHT 54
