Sean Doolittle Retires

Adieu to Dooooo

Sean Doolittle with glove.

Sean Doolittle retires. The second 2019 World Series Champion Washington Nationals player in two months announced his retirement on Friday.

Despite his surname, Sean Doolittle did big things for the Nats and the District across five different seasons with the team. Doolittle’s performance throughout the 2019 campaign catapulted the Nats to the top of the MLB universe that year.

Sean Doolittle embraced D.C. just as much as the fans embraced him. Doolittle’s impact was and will continue to be beyond the baseball diamond. For example, he has been a mainstay during “Summer Reading Sundays” at Nationals Park for local school kids.

Thank you for staying as long as you did, number 63! Looking forward to seeing you around the team and town for a long time.

Blogging about the Nats since 2022. Nats nut since 2004. Once hit a batting practice ball that cleared the infield dirt at Nationals Park. On a fly.
