Redskins laugh at Manziel's gesture

OrakpoJohnny Manziel flipped off the Washington Redskins bench on Monday Night Football and the reaction from the Redskins players was actually pretty funny.  Here is the story on Manziel and his middle finger salute. The Redskins’ defense was apparently taunting Manziel mentioning how he is playing in the NFL and guys are faster now, according to this story by ESPN. This quote by Brian Orakpo from the ESPN story should pretty much say it all when it comes to how the Redskins felt about Manziel.

“It was hilarious,” said Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo, who was pegged by one teammate as the instigator. “We were messing with him a little bit, just saying this ain’t college and stuff like that. We were having a little fun. “Manziel flipped us off. It was something funny. We were all laughing on the sidelines.”

Orakpo and several other members of the Redskins defense pretty much thought that Manziel was a joke and still acts like a college player. Manziel’s numbers supported that as he only had a 76.3 quarterback rating.  Trash talk is normal in the NFL and Manziel needs to get over it if he wants any chance to succeed. On the other side of the story, the Redskins are hardly in a position to instigate anyone coming off a 3 and 13 season. The Redskins are in the middle of another name controversy and are very thin in the secondary.  The Redskins did, however, win the game: 24 to 23.
