Ravens bring back Urban and Johnson on one-year deals

The 2024 NFL free agency period has just began and the Baltimore Ravens have been active as usual. The Ravens have signed backup quarterback Josh Johnson and defensive end Brent Urban to one-year contracts yesterday.

Urban has been a long-time Raven, originally drafted in the fourth-round of the 2014 NFL draft by the Ravens. Urban left the Ravens in 2018 and returned in 2022 and has been back on one-year deals since.

Urban may not put up big tackle and sack numbers but he is a hard working trench player that takes on blocking offensive lineman. Last season, Urban had a career high three sacks.

Johnson is a journeyman quarterback and was the third string most of last year. Johnson is a veteran depth guy that knows the playbook and can step in when needed.

I like the Ravens bringing back Urban, a locker room favorite, the Ravens know what they are going to get with him. These are two solid role players for the Ravens to bring back.
