Orioles trade Villar to Marlins in exchange for minor leaguer
The Baltimore Orioles have traded infielder Jonathan Villar to the Maimi Marlins in exchange for left handed pitcher Easton Lucas . Villar was originally acquired in the Jonathan Schoop trade.
Lucas played college baseball at Pedderdine University and was drafted in the 14th round by the Miami. Lucas is 22 and old for someone playing in low minors.
Villar was a key player for the Orioles, last season Villar batted .274 with 24 home runs. The Orioles placed Villar on waivers following the season.
This was a strictly money move by the Orioles who did not want to pay Villar his arbitration cost.

Additionally, the Orioles have acquired minor league LHP Easton Lucas from the Miami Marlins in exchange for INF Jonathan Villar.
The 40-man roster currently has 38 players.
