Orioles set to promote Westburg to the Majors
The Baltimore Orioles are set to promote Jordan Westburg to the Majors, according to MASN’s Roch Kubatko. Westburg has been tearing it up all season for AAA Norfolk and his lack of promotion has stirred trade rumors.
The Orioles number three prospect hit .295 with 18 home runs this season for the Tides. Westburgs bat is clearly needed in Baltimore while his defense still needs a little polish, Westburg can play multiple infield positions.
With Adam Frazier and Jorge Mateo both struggling at the plate their are options for Westburg to get his playing time. I think the Orioles are finally at the point in which Mateo is going to stop starting every game.
I hope the Orioles give a good look at Westburg who should provide a good power bat to the Orioles. I honestly think the Westburg promotion is a little over due but Mike Elias may have had his reasons.
